A new way of learning in the USA: Homeschooling.
It is a matter of facts that homeschooling is a futuristic way to transmit knowledge to children, but will they want at a certain point of their lives a real education with a real teacher and a classroom. In the USA, more and more families don't accept their children to be taught by professors at school or at the university. Is this a good thing? I believe personally that it is a good thing in some points but the child needs as well the environment of a classroom to not fall in an autarchic world or be a savant who hasn't followed a specific line of scholarisation. At the very beginning of mankind, knowledge used to be transmitted from father to son. Jesus Christ was a carpenter like is adoptive father, Mozart grew up in a family of musicians and so on the examples to illustrate this thesis are multiple. With the expansion of the internet network, and the multimedia, one can easily find his hobby or his field of predilection. This is why now more than ever before, homeschooling has a great chance to be spread out over the world. This is very good in some points because as everything changes in the world why not school? Maybe that in ten or fifteen years, school would be remunerated. Why not being paid for going to school if no one doesn't want to go to it for money? In my opinion, the
school of the future would have great differences with the school of Jules Ferry. Maybe the classrooms will become virtual? Why not if we consider the number of families in the USA who refuse to let their children to the public school? According to some studies, the children who are educated by their parents at home have no lack of education comparing with the children who study at the public school. Wasn't Stephenson an analphabet before he elaborated the locomotive? It is definitely a reality that human intelligence is growing bigger and bigger, and if this one grows to big it doesn't need anymore discipline and rigidity. The humans are far too responsible for that, and this is why school is definitely condemned one day or the other to disappear. So homeschoolers are already some kind of mutants who don't accept all what professors teaches them neither to study what they don't like. We don't study philosophy at 12 years old just because the state and government don't think that children are mature enough to comprehend philosophical demonstrations. This is an error, if a child of 10 years old can fully understand how a computer works, it is sure that he should be mature enough to understand the basis of philosophy. The emergence of computing and the internet does in fact toll the bell to the old school of the XIXth Century and enters mankind in another universe of comprehension.
