Babysitter Training

Nannies have been around since the early civilizations. Perhaps, the first nannies were those trusted by royalties to take care of their children. Today, the "what is nanny" question encompasses the job description of a nanny as defined by law and as agreed upon by both the nanny and you, as the employer.

What is nanny?

A nanny may or may not have the previous childcare experiences. As much as you want to choose a nanny with high qualifications, it would accompany higher compensation. However, seasoned nannies are more likely to be efficient in childcare than do inexperienced counterparts. Nannies can supposedly take care of one or more children of all ages without question.

Three types of nanny differ in the level of childcare they are tasked to provide.

The daily nanny or live-out nanny lives in another house but agrees to come to your house at a particular hour of the day as agreed between both of you. The length of time you require for the nanny to be home as well as its corresponding rate will depend on your agreement, or the agency's rate, whichever may apply.

A live-in nanny actually lives with you. It's therefore your responsibility to proved private sleeping quarter and meals.

The nanny shar
e is someone who is employed by another family besides you. She takes care of other children and your children alternately or on a schedule you pre-arranged with her.

There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of nanny, as you will figure out. The availability of childcare services will be defined by your work and how much time you can spend with your child.

You need to check everyday what is nanny doing with your child. Besides feeding, giving a bath, or making sure your child takes his/her vitamins regularly, a good nanny should be able to show love to your child and design the necessary activities that stimulates the emotional, physical, intellectual and social growth of children.

So what is nanny takes more than being a person you pay to watch over your children. She should be nurturing, loving, and caring. There are times when a child will seem too attached to his/her nanny than to you, and vice versa. In this event, it might be time to define on what is nanny to you. Is she someone who will be your "figure" when you're at work or is she only paid to support you? This is often not a question anymore but a reminder to parents.

Young children, especially, should not be confused on what is nanny, by spending quality time with your kids and making sure your child feels your presence even when you're not with her.
