Everything Happens for a Reason
Everything happens for a reason.
I used to think God was punishing me.
Why did I get stuck with this lifestyle?!
Why would God want me to endure such torture?
Then I realized why…
He wanted me to realize that life was not fair.
He wanted me to know that the people in my life loved me even though they didn't show it.
That is when I realized, this is who I am.
This is what makes me, ME.
Everything I am composed of is because of my family.
Although they are in an entrapment of tainted liquid,
They have shown me what mistakes not to make.
They have shown me that life is what you make of it.
My childhood memories are squashed.
I do not hate them for it, but I wish that it were different.
If it wasn't for my Aunt, what would I have become?
Who I am is mostly because of her.
She took me under her wing and showed me that there was more to life
than watching others suffer.
She became the ultimate influence in my life.
When times were hard for me, I took to her for support.
More importantly, she never doubted me.
When I heard the horrible news, I didn't know who to confide in.
I knew my life would never be the same if anything happened to her.
Breast Cancer was the culprit.
Is God trying to punish me again?!
As I lay by the side of her hospital bed, memories of when I was young flashed through my mind.
Memories of when I was with her and of how happy I felt.
All I could think about was the past.
Then… a revelation into the future.
Things were going to be ok and nothing bad was going to happen to her as long as I believed she was going to be ok.
Nothing bad would happen because she was strong.
Nothing could stop her from healing because of the love I concealed for her.
Ever since that day, I have never doubted anything and believed that everything happens for a reason.
I used to think God was punishing me.
Why did I get stuck with this lifestyle?!
