The Fun In Naming Twins

Having twins in the family is indeed a blessing the whole clan can enjoy. And one very enjoyable thing in having twins is choosing their names. Now, it can be quite hard coming up with a name for just one kid, let alone two! But do not fret because as difficult as it can be, the process is indeed pleasurable.

To make things easier, it would really help to be creative. You can get everyone in your family in one room and just let those creative juices flow amongst all of you. Remember that the names of these twins will be the first things that would define them all throughout their lives. Thus, it is of much importance to give them names that they themselves can be proud of.

There are actually a number of tips that can help you with the selection process here. These tips are very helpful, whether you are having two girls, two boys, or one of each. The first tip would be to choose names that rhyme. Now, this is indeed a popular choice amongst the many parents that have twins all over the world. This is because coming up with such names is easier. For boys, the popular choices include Bill and Will, Ted and Fred, Ken and Ben, Ike and Mike, Duke and Luke, and even Grayson and Jason. For girls, Holly and Molly are quite popular names. There’s also Sara and Tara, Carissa and Marissa, and Judy and Trudy. If you’re having one of each, then the choices can get more interesting. You can actually go with Ben and Jen, for instance. Grace and Chase also make great choices, as well as Gail and Dale. If you want to name the little girl Hailey, then you can go with Bailey for your little boy.

But if you do not want to go with rhyming names, you can also go for alliteration. This means that the names you choose will either begin or end in the same sound or letters. For boys, you can go with Ryan and Ethan, for instance. Brandon and Brett are also common alliteration names for twin boys. Adam and Sam, as well as Andrew and Matthew, make great choices as well. As for girls, Holly and Shelly top the list for female alliteration names. Sarah and Hannah are included on the list. Kayla and Kaylee are popular modern names for female twins as well. Also, Melissa and Alyssa are commonly used. When you are having a boy and girl, you still have a lot of choices for alliteration names. What’s popular here is going with the male and female versions of certain names. For instance, you want to name your little boy Joseph. You can then go with the female counterpart, Josephine, for your little girl. Gabriel and Gabriella, as well as Louis and Louise, make great choices as well.

You can also go with alternate spellings for your twins. If you have two boys, then you can go with Sean and Shawn, or perhaps, Charley and Charlie. Kristopher and Christopher also make an excellent pair! For girls, you can go with Sara and Sarah, Mia and Mya, Melany and Melanie, Leah and Leigh, and Mae and May. For a boy and a girl, you can go with Gail and Gayle, Erin and Aaron, Shaun and Shawn, as well as Don and Dawn. What is really great about these names having alternate spellings is that they can be confusing to the friends your twins will have in the future. With twins, there is much fun when it comes to confusing people and such, so this is indeed an attractive option. Just make sure to give them names that you are sure they will find nice because these are the names they will be carrying for the rest of their lives.
