Timeshare Rental vs. Timeshare Ownership

Timeshare Rental vs. Timeshare Ownership

For your next family vacation you may want to consider a timeshare rental instead of buying a timeshare.

On the surface, buying a timeshare may seem to provide the answer to your traveling dreams, but in the end, it may wind up being your worst nightmare.  Let's compare a timeshare rental with buying a timeshare.

Timeshares are very costly up front most of the time. You will most likely put that up front fee on a credit card with full intentions of paying that loan back quickly.  Unforseen circumstances occur, ie. you lose your job, you lose your health, etc. so you decide to sell your timeshare.  The problem is, you find out that your timeshare is now worth a fraction of what you paid for it and you realize that you will never be able to recover the costs you charged on your credit card.

With a timeshare rental, you are under no obligation to pay anything up front but a small deposit and then when due, the cost for the actual week itself.  You use the week and if you do wind up losing a job or your health, you will only have one week's worth of timeshare to pay for instead of a lifetime.

The same goes for cash too.  You buy into a timeshare with cash thinking you will be able to recoup your cash if something goes wrong by selling your timeshare.  Instead, you find that the value of your timeshare is a fraction of what the timeshare actually cost you and you lose money.  Worse yet, you may not be able to sell it at all.

With a timeshare rental, if you pay cash for it, it's over and done with.  You go, enjoy your week and look for another timeshare rental for the next time you want to vacation.  No obligation.

In addition, many timeshares require a yearly maintenance fee which can rise at any tim
e due to acts of "mother nature" or wear and tear.  The yearly maintenance fees are the reason most timeshare owners try to sell their timeshares.

With a timeshare rental, you have no monthly or yearly maintenance fees.  You just take your vacation without worry.

You can find timeshare rentals in numerous places on the internet.  You can rent weeks for very reasonable prices in some cases, from timeshare owners who cannot use their timeshares as often as they thought they might.  All you have to do is google the words, "timeshare rentals" and you will come up with a list of companies offering discounted timeshares.

There is another great way to get timeshare rentals and that is by joining a travel membership club that offers travel to timeshare properties around the world.  One such club is GRN or Global Resorts Network.  Because this is a membership club, you can only get the timeshare rentals for huge discount prices if you join.  You will pay a one time, lifetime membership fee or a one time three year membership fee depending on your vacation needs.

With the lifetime membership fee you will be able to travel for the next 100 years at the discounted rates to timeshare rental properties all over the world.  This is a convenient one stop shop to get huge discounts on 3, 4 and 5 star resorts worldwide.  If you don't think you will be around for 100 years feel free to pass the membership along to your family or friends.  That would be something they would most likely appreciate.

Timeshare rentals are definitely a great alternative to purchasing an expensive timeshare whether you rent directly from a timeshare owner or broker or join a timeshare membership club.  The main advantage to the club is that in the long run, it is definitely less expensive.   Check it out for yourself.  Visit the links below for more information.
