First time Dad
Probably one of the most exiting times in once live is having their first baby.
This is what is going to happen to me. My partner is 29 weeks pregnant and the baby is due on 28 January 2010. When I look back at the time that my partner first told me that she was pregnant, I couldn't describe the feeling that I had. It was a mixture of emotions. Happy, exciting and also a bit scary as you know that in 9 months time you are going to be a father of a person and bare the responsibility for life. Those feelings quickly turn into not being able to wait to see the first pictures and checking the calendar every day to count the days remaining. Two months to go before my son is born.
The scary part of it all is that in Ireland Swineflu is still very much active. This is more dangerous to pregnant women and young healthy persons. We heard that there was a vaccination that can be injected in order to reduce the risk of getting it, but this seems not true.
In my personal opinion, it would be a good idea to wait till the vaccination is fully tested
and working prior to requesting it. You have to consider this as a normal Flu which infects more rapidly then the normal flu virus. Common medication could also reduce or keep away the disease. I am not a doctor so don't listen to me if you don't want to, this is just my own opinion.
Parents to be or people who already have children can probably agree with me that you want to enter every baby store you pass, even though you are not in need of something. Buying little cuddly animals and clothes are more of a reflex than a well thought idea. At the end of the day when you actually look what you have bought you can see that your budget was slightly overdrawn. With slightly I mean a lot and with a lot I mean OH MY GOD!
Please let me know your thoughts and experiences as well. As a dad to be I can use all the help and advice I can get. To all the fathers to be I would like to say congratulations and the best of luck with your bundle of joy.
Many thanks for reading this article. Feel free to post any suggestions, feedback or thought you might have. The more information I receive, the better I will be.
God bless
