Food Advertisments affects children's choices

Everyday, we see ads for foods or drinks on televisions, in newspapers, or in magazines. Companies hope that their ads will get us buy the products or children asks their parents to buy it for them. But it is very important for us to become vigilant and find the common "techniques" that ads use to "sell" us their products. There's nothing wrong with companies using these techniques in their ads, but knowing whether the food or drinks is really smart for us or for our children. Let's try to know some of these selling techniques Food Companies are using.

1.Ads usually use popular music, cool animations or bright colors to catch every child's attentions. This technique is often called "grabbers attention". It is therefore important to know what are this "grabbers" in the ad usually means.

2. Seeing your favorite actor or actress, musicians, sports figure or even cartoon characters in an ad gives us a good impression about
the product. And, we might think that we can be more like that person or character if you eat or drink the product. But is it true? Did you even know that this product endorser really uses the product he or she is selling to?

3. For products intended for our kids, some ads even show kids who use the product being good as sports, having lots of fun, being popular with other kids, or looking really great. Your child might think that they'll be like this if they drink or eat the product.

To think rightly when we look at food or drink ads, ask ourselves whether the amount of food or drink shown in the ad is too big, too small, or just right to eat or drink one time. And compare it with the amount we or our children's usually eat or drink at one time. Also, observe whether the ad shows people doing active things like getting exercise. And ask your children "Does the ad makes them feel like exercising too? If so, then its one way to encouraging yourself to but that particular product.
