How To Get Your Toddler To Potty Train
As parents of toddlers it is difficult to get our children to do some things and potty training is no exception. Potty training is hard or at least for me it is so in my opinion I am not alone. Some parents do not have difficulties getting their children to potty train and thats great but I hate you!! I do not hate you.
The things I am tring is during the day I let my son wear big boy underwear. That seems to help some. Every time he goes to the potty I make a big ordeal about it! It is like a big party when he goes. I do not want to force him to go but want to keep him interested.
What gets me is the number two thing. My son will tell me he has went but will not go to the potty. We have been a few times and again I make a big deal about it. He feels proud and I hope that will make him go more. I admit it does help but not all the time.
Another thing I do is bug my son every thirty minutes with " do you need to potty?" of course usually he tells me "no" but alot of the time we do go. When we first get up in the mornings I take him straight to the potty and he does really well and usually very proud of himself.
Every child is different and learns at his/her own pace. Potty training is very difficult for some parents. Do not get discouraged. We are parents not pros! You can always try to allow your child to go with you when you go. I have tried that as well. Be patient and your child will get the hang of it. I know mine will and I will have to be patient too. Good Luck!
