How difficult it is to have a grandson living with me with a Fractured pinky
It's been very difficult living with my grandson, Daniel who fractured his pinky in a roller blading accident. He can't play his video games, swim or even bathe by himself! All of those reasons are because he was hanging on a door, slipped and his pinky bent up. The doctor put his arm in a splint wrapped tightly with cotton and gauze and he put his splint in a sling. I feel so sorry for him because he ruined 6 weeks out of his summer vacation. We had an active vacation planned but MAYBE we have to change plans. We were going to
go to Jersey Shore and Daniel was going to go on a fishing boat with his grandpa for the day and fish in the Atlantic Ocean for stripers. His grandpa usually gives a few dollars for the tournament of whoever on
the boat catches the biggest fish can win the jackpot which can be as much as up to $200. Daniel
may still be able to go as long as he doesn't get the cast wet or bend his left hand. I guess he
will be a right hand fisherman this year.
Our next adventure was to go to Washington, D.C. to the Smithsonian Institute to sightsee.
I took his mother there when she was a little older than he is and she enjoyed the wonderful exhibits
the Smithsoania
n has to offer. The Lincoln Memorial, the Viet Nam wall, and all the other
interesting places in Washington, D.C. We couldn't get into the White House at
that time due to security but if we go this time I will inquire and who knows, maybe we can
meet President Obama. Wouldn't that be exciting for Daniel to meet the President and have
him sign an autograph and he can show his 6th grade class President Obama's signature.
Our next adventure was going to be to Westbrook, Maine to visit my aunt whom I haven't seen in years and is eighty years old. She informed me that Maine has beautiful summer scenery and ocean front seafood restaurants. We were going to stay three days and venture onto Boston, Massacusetts and visit the Boston Aquarian and walk the Liberty Trail To Freedom our forefathers walked over two hundred years ago.
Next stop Cape Cod, Mass. where you can watch the whales swimming close to your boat and the
cool wind blowing in your face. We can visit the old sea captains mansions and tour the
lighthouses Cape Cod has to offer. Well, you know since Danny can't use his hand on this
2009 summer vacation we think he CAN still enjoy his summer sightseeing and write in his
notebook - The Summer of 2009 By Daniel. ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!
