How to Make an Easter Basket
Easter is a wonderful time of year for both children and adults. There are social gatherings, egg hunting, picnics, adorable outfits and yummy Easter baskets for kids. Unfortunately, with the cost of everything going up, Easter is costing more than it used to, even eggs are becoming to expensive. Cut costs this Easter by putting together your own Easter baskets. Creating your own baskets will not only cost you less than store bought baskets that sell for $20 to $100, but they will also be much more personal.
What you will need
A basket of any shape and size
Easter grass, either store bought or home made
Assortment of candies and sweets that the gift receiver likes
Ribbon or bow
Stuffed animal such as a bunny, puppy dog, frog or duck
Plastic eggs of assorted colors
Little trinkets and gifts depending on the personality of the receiver
Putting it all together
Putt a generous amount of Easter grass in the bottom of your basket, you want to cover the bottom and have some coming out the sides, but kind of hallow in the middle.
Next, place you chosen stuffed animal in the basket, wherever you want it. Grab some of those plastic eggs and fill a few with Jelly Beans, chocolate egg candies, coins, or small gifts. Place a few of these around the stuffed animal, maybe burry one in the grass a little bit.
Around the plastic eggs and stuffed animal place some chocolate bars, and chocolate bunnies, maybe some yellow duck peeps, a Cadbury egg or two, M&Ms, whatever kind of candy the person you are giving it to likes.
You can also add some little gifts to the basket, something that reflects who the person is. If the person likes to draw or color throw in comes art pens, or Crayola crayons. For little boys tossing in some Hot Wheels, army men, small Lego packs or crazy creature would do great. Little girls often enjoy a littlest pet shop toy, a diary, necklace or earrings, dress up make-up and other fashion accessories.
Finally, you will want to add a bow to the basket. This can be done with Ribbon, a color of your choosing, or a pre-made bow that can be purchased at crafts stores. A little to you from me card can be tossed on top as well, or tied to the basket handle.
With little money, as most things can be purchased at dollar stores or drug stores for a low price, and a little effort you can easily create your own Easter baskets, that will be perfect for the person who is going to be receiving it.
