VALENTINE'S DAY GAMES FOR KIDS' PARTY

You will find ideas suitable for the classroom, a family gathering, a party - or just an evening with the kids.

  • If you're having your Valentine's Day party at home, begin planning your bash six to eight weeks in advance.
  • Don't panic if you find yourself short on time; you can still plan a great party! Planning ahead simply reduces the risk of conflicts with guests' plans and may increase your party's attendance.

  • Select two party games, or you can divide children into more groups as well. It will help you to manage the kids easily.

  • Select games those are appropriate for your space, amount of children and the age of your guests.

  • Always have an extra simple activity as a back-up.

  • It's important when entertaining kids, to be flexible. If a game seems to complicated or the kids are not enjoying it...move on to another game.

  • Many traditional playground games are perfect for last minute activities because they can be easily adapted
to fit your theme and require no preparation.

Some easy games are suggested below

  • BLIND HEARTS: Place a small blackboard on an easel at one end of the room, and blindfold everyone one by one, and hand over a piece of chalk with which they have to draw an outline of a heart, and to write their name in the center. The one doing the best to have a prize of a large candy heart.

  • MATCH MAKER: A Valentine's Day word game where famous pairs come together.Divide the children into 2 teams and form two rows facing each other. The first player on one side begins by asking the first player on the other team to complete this famous couple. For example:

"Romeo and ....." the opposing player says "Juliet"

"Cookies and......." - milk

"Eggs and......" - bacon

"Cinderella and ....." - Prince Charming

"Samson and ....." - Delilah

  • VALENTINE BALLOON POP:Pour a small amount of Valentine confetti into your balloons before inflating them and tying off. Give the children a pin and ask them to keep the balloons in the air until your signal, at which point they can start trying to pop them! You could also put a small piece of paper with a heart drawn on it into one or two balloons - and whoever retrieves those wins a prize.
