Hundred of year ago, women had children to teach, food to prepare, garden to tend, clothing to make, husband to take care of. They shared a vital purpose, every member of the family was a team for the survival of the family. It is a home-centered society. But today, it is different. The center of society is now moving away from home. Have women ever had their rights? Are there no psychological and biological differences between make and female humans? Thus women always been discriminated against in different way?

This new trend started somewhere in 60's. The modern wife had been freed from labor-saving condition and become a full partner with her husband. It was assumed that she had achieved full feminine fulfillment.

Many believed that women are deprived in different ways to find fulfillment and success in life because they tied up being a woman in a kitchen. Are not women getting lower pay than men for the same work? Have women ever had their rights?

This modern housewives have their ultimate goal. They wanted to change every aspect of what they consider a male-dominated society. By doing this, women have true equality and find real happiness. They wanted changes in the entire social structure.

The modern housewives generally complain that men maintain barriers against equal job opportunities and pay for women. Those women who must work to support a fatherless family, such discrimination works a real hardship.

Dormant feelings of frustration within great numbers of women are being aroused. Million of women who are unhappy maybe influenced to make decisions which will gravely affect them and their families. Most women go outside the home to find fulfillment and happiness. They build a career disregarding the "don't be just a housewife" issue.

Opponents to the modern housewife claim that women place is in home. Because that is the very existence of a marriage custom, a traditional husband-wife relationship and a traditional family concept known.

But it has change a great deal. Today, large number of housewives were already spending substantial proportion of their day working outside the home.

Whatever the truth, one thing is clear that women need to grow. They need the proper type of education and intellectual stimulation. Women need fulfillment as men do. Both need a purpose for living. Women need to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually just as fully as a man. The problem is for a woman to find proper avenue, role and place in which to experience this needed growth.
